Princess Sheba  Princess Sheba is now on medical hold due to her age and medical issues including her arthritis , which we have shortened her walks from 3 to 2 and go with how she is feeling that day. She still enjoys meeting people , but loves her beauty sleep and quiet time to recharge . She does still enjoy being loved on. She also isn't enjoying her grooming as much and resists. She recently went off her food and I readjusted what she eats and how it is prepared and sometimes hand feed her. She used to eat with no problem. We want to insure she doesn't have to make any other adjustments and ensure she gets the care that she needs as a senior dog. Princess Sheba is being fostered in
Spring Grove, PA  NS3291
Bailey Blue is a work in progress, learning to trust people. She may have been abused or had some head injury or is just naturally extremely shy of people, but she is great with other dogs.  This girl is a flower waiting to bloom and it will take some time to see how much more progress she can make. She may never be a very social dog with people she doesn't know but it's clear she will learn to love and trust at least one or two people.  Bailey Blue is fostered in Collegeville PA. NS3780
Mangus - ADOPTION PENDING - is in the 30 pound range and presently on medical hold due to recuperation from an accident. He is approximately 8 years old and semi-velcro. He always wants to know where you are and can hear you move from two rooms away. He is totally trust worthy without a crate, but will slip into his crate periodically for a nap. He experienced some time on his own before being rescued so asks that we keep all garbage can lids closed. He does not play with toys but enjoys belly rubs while in your lap and loves hanging on the deck watching the deer and new fawns on the outside of the fencing. Fostered in Stroudsburg, PA  NS3884
Joisy Boy

Joisy Boy is a red & white Border Collie or Aussie Mix. We believe he is at least 5 years old. He is a shy boy when you first meet him but he's very spunky when he gets to know you. Joisy Boy is great on leash and loves to sniff in a straight line as he walks (he does not go to the bathroom on walks so a yard is a must). He knows commands and was definitely trained in his previous life. He is fairly low energy and loves to cuddle or find a quiet spot to curl up in. (Couch access is mandatory in his opinion) He won't be able to contain his excitement when his people return home though and will bounce about while giving submissive toothy grins and demanding butt scratches.

Joisy Boy gets along with our other dogs but can be a bully and would probably do well in a home without cats or dogs. A submissive dog might be ok but he definitely prefers humans to dogs.
He is shy around new people/situations and scared of the typical stuff (Storms/fireworks/loud noises). He would need a quiet home without small children and not too busy, preferably someone home most of the time. While he doesn't have separation anxiety, he definitely likes his person being around. He does get into things he shouldn't and knows to wait until everyone leaves, this includes bathroom trash, reachable food boxes/bags, paper towels etc. If he can reach it, he will get into it.

Joisy Boy is fostered in Haddon Twp., NJ

Beth the Cowgirl  Beth is a dear girl who had a hard start in life, being penned in a barn stall because she wouldn’t stop “herding” the cows. To this day, she gets very animated if she hears cows outside or on the tv so no homes with cows, please! Beth has the normal Aussie reserve upon meeting new people but it lasts all of 5 minutes and then she’d like to crawl into your lap. She’s 3 years old and all white except for a red patch, but has no health problems associated with vision or hearing sometimes seen with Aussies with a lot of white.  She was very overweight at intake, but she loves to go for walks so her foster home is having success getting some of the original 67 lbs off already. We recommend a fenced yard so she can run to her heart’s content. After so many years tied in a barn stall, it’s only fair she gets a chance to get out and run, and she loves to run and play with other dogs outside. Beth is great on a leash and doesn’t pull. She tends to walk a little faster at first when taken out and this is her sign that she has to potty. Beth could sit in front of you (or on your lap if you let her) for hours to get rubbed on her head. She loves head rubs, but will accept a body rub as well. The head rubs put her right to sleep.  This girl is quite reliable in the house but if you’re not attuned to her signals she may have the very occasional accident indoors so the foster home just keeps her on a schedule and watches for her signals.  This cowgirl loves her toys and feels a bit possessive of them but other than a grumble or swiftly grabbing one that gets dropped by another dog, it isn’t a big problem. Beth gets along well with both male and female dogs but does like to be top dog, especially in the house, but a few solid verbal corrections and nothing comes of it other than a little grumble.
Beth does well with men, women and children, but dog savvy children are preferred since it’s important for children to know which toys are theirs and which are hers, though there won’t be anything more than a grumble over it if someone tries to take a toy from her carefully curated collection.  Beth does not counter surf, but if food is left at a height that she can reach it, she will help herself to it. She is always interested in what you are eating. She is not much for sharing her food with other dogs and will give a grumble if another dog comes close to her bowl while eating. She does not attack, she just gives a little grumble. Beth loves to sleep on the sofa and will make herself right at home. If allowed, she will also sleep on the bed with you. She isn’t much for dog beds, and would rather sleep on the floor if not allowed on the couch.  We’re waiting for an appointment to get Beth spayed so she’s on hold for now. She also has a heart murmur, a grade 2 on a scale of 6, but it’s of no concern for anesthesia and she doesn’t require any regular meds to treat.
Beth is fostered in Gloucester VA. NS3972
Luna Lou

Luna Lou was born 6/23/2023 so as of April she is 10 months old and full of puppy happiness and energy. She's about 36 lbs and we think that's where she'll stay. Her coat is super soft and getting a bit longer but may always be shorter-- time will tell. Best bet is she's a border collie mix, with the classic C curved tail with a white tip. She's very muscular and fast and fortunately she is also extremely ready to learn and obey. She sits and waits for release when it's mealtime, or to come out of the crate. This girl is ready to work for you and would be great at trick training and almost any other dog sport you might like to try.

Luna Lou had a genetic issue with one kidney and that has been successfully removed. The other one works perfectly.

This girl is ready to play and run and would love a big fenced yard. She's great with all the other dogs at her foster home, and rolls on her belly to lure the other dogs into playing with her. She's a smart cookie!  She's very sweet and respectful of the older dogs and takes a no if they don't want to play when she asks. We haven't done much leash walking but given how fast she picks up new behavior and how ready she is to learn, it shouldn't take much effort to get that down perfectly.

She definitely has an off switch and is great in a crate after a workout: she kicks back and really shuts down, and is very tolerant of longer hours in a crate when that's necessary.

Luna Lu

Luna Lu is an incredibly sweet young lady. She is estimated to be about 2 years old and weighs around 36 pounds. Earlier this year she gave birth to seven of the most adorable little pups. Luna was the most attentive, protective, and loving mama ever! The puppies were all adopted early April, and Luna has since been adjusting to life as a single lady and letting her guard down.

With her pups around, Luna didn’t play or socialize much with the two resident dogs. Over the past few weeks she has discovered how fun running around in the yard playing chase can be! She also really enjoys playing catch or just roaming around the yard exploring all the smells. Inside she loves all thing’s comfortable. Beds, sofas, blankets, your lap. She loves to lounge and it’s even better if you are right next to her.

Luna is highly velcro and will happily follow you room to room. She does well in her crate when left home alone for a few hours. She is your typical Aussie when it comes to leash walking - meaning she loves to herd and tends to walk in circles around you. She is vocal to other dogs and people when we pass them on walks. She does take a bit to warm up to other dogs but has had no issues with humans. Men, women, and many children were in and out of the house visiting her and the puppies and she loved them all.

A perfect home for Luna would be one that is willing to dedicate time to training her as she is still a bit untrained and insecure. Potentially a home where she is an only dog for a while, or an experienced home that can navigate slow introductions. Luna has strong reactions to cat sounds, so probably best to avoid homes with real ones.

This sweet mama has been through so much the past few months and gave so much love to her babies. It’s time for her to find her furever home and get all the love she deserves.

Jilly Bean

Small in size, big in adventurous spirit! Jilly Bean is a beautiful 1.5 yrs. old Black Tri Mini Aussie. Fully grown and only 22 lbs, she's ready and raring to accompany you by plane, train, or automobile! Jilly was rescued by New Spirit in March 2024 from a backyard (farm) breeding operation in Ohio. Jilly can be, at first, very shy -- but as she starts to feel safe and secure in her foster home is coming out of her shell a bit more every day – and all things considered, making incredible progress!

Jilly love love loves to go hiking with her foster human and foster home resident dogs – she's great off leash on these hikes and does well with even longer distances; and watch out for that splash – if there's water, Jilly is all too ready to jump in!

Jilly would do well in a variety of home environments. The most important thing is that the home can be doting and patient as she continues to adjust to "normal" dog living.

Jilly is up to date medically and microchipped. She is not currently spayed. She is being fostered in Pittsburgh, PA.

Chamomile
Chamomile is a sweet and friendly puppy that loves giving kisses and being cuddled. She also loves to run and play with her sister. The two of them can play for hours and then cuddle up together or with their people for a snooze. Chamomile has done well with all of the new people and children who have come by for snuggles. After playing a grand game of tug or chase she always easily calms down and settles in for love and pets. She is working on potty training and basic commands like sit. Chamomile is hoping her forever family will find her soon!
