Koda Chrome

Koda Chrome is settling into a rural foster home with two humans and a resident dog. He is a happy two-year-old 46 lb. male with a beautiful shiny black coat, white chest and paws. He has the darkest of eyes that follow everything intently. He is high Velcro to his humans and is good with other dogs. Through no fault of his own, his previous family could no longer care for him. He is house-trained, crates quietly for sleep overnight and is an excellent car traveler. He is in a crate while alone in the home. Upon entering the crate, he whines but soon settles in. No food guarding noted and very responsive to touch.

Koda Chrome has a young dog’s high energy but chills at your feet after exercise, especially after playing with another dog. It is so much fun to see him wait in a sit to play Chuck-it. He retrieves and promptly returns for over and over play! He runs 2-3 miles with his foster mom. He is a hard chewer so tough toys and brain puzzles are recommended. He easily corrects to the word “off” if on furniture or for the
occasional counter inspection. He is excelling at his ongoing training! He is treat-driven, knows basic commands of sit, stay, wait, come, check in and is learning hand signals for commands. His recall is excellent. Leash training is conducted in a quiet environment until his training advances. Because of Koda Chrome’s high energy, a home with no young children or cats would likely be best for him.

Koda Chrome is smart, locked on and loves to work for his humans! Another resident dog or access to dog play would be helpful in expending his energy. He is looking for an active person(s) willing to continue his training so he can live his best life of outdoor activities with his fur-ever family.

Koda Chrome is fostered in PA.

Brian

Brian is a handsome 4-year-old red bi Aussie, weighing 38 pounds, no tail, and he’s ready for a new beginning. This housebroken boy rides well in the car and is easy to handle for grooming. He’s gentle with kids and has a calm, submissive nature. He has come a long way in foster and now trusts his main caregiver and is ready and able to form an attachment to a person. He spent most of his life living outdoors with minimal human contact.

While Brian tends to avoid human interaction at first, once he feels safe, he’s sweet and cooperative. He will do best in a home with a secure yard and at least one other playful doggie companion.  After a rough start, he’s now fantastic on leash. Brian crates easily but now sleeps peacefully through the night uncrated in the bedroom and can be left loose in the house when you’re away with no problem.

Brian now wiggles in response to sweet talk, and is very food motivated so he learns quickly and happily with a few treats.  He is such a nice boy, with a fantastically soft coat that he has learned to like having brushed.

This guy might take a little longer to integrate into a new household and adjust to new humans than a dog from a more conventional background. but he is so worth it!

Mangus – ADOPTION PENDING – is in the 30 pound range and presently on medical hold due to recuperation from an accident. He is approximately 8 years old and semi-velcro. He always wants to know where you are and can hear you move from two rooms away. He is totally trust worthy without a crate, but will slip into his crate periodically for a nap. He experienced some time on his own before being rescued so asks that we keep all garbage can lids closed. He does not play with toys but enjoys belly rubs while in your lap and loves hanging on the deck watching the deer and new fawns on the outside of the fencing.   NS3884

Bailey Blue is a work in progress, learning to trust people. She may have been abused or had some head injury or is just naturally extremely shy of people, but she is great with other dogs.  This girl is a flower waiting to bloom and it will take some time to see how much more progress she can make. She may never be a very social dog with people she doesn’t know but it’s clear she will learn to love and trust at least one or two people.  NS3780
