Ralph Lauren

Dont miss out on this “ Awesome ” of a dog Ralph!!

Ralph is a one and a half year old 35 pound black tri male Aussie.  Ralph’s foster can’t say enough good things  about him! He is so well behaved… No reason to crate him because he is very good in the house.

He loves other dogs  and people and carries around a bone or ball as much as possible.  Ralph unfortunately, found himself at a high kill shelter… And New Spirit scooped him up just in time….   He enjoys love and attention and just wants to be part of a family.

He is fostered in Furlong,  PA

Mozzie

Meet Mozzie! He is a 3.5 year old red merle love bug with a tail. He loves doing whatever his foster family is doing!

He adores the 5 year old in his foster home and has been great with the other two female dogs. Our cat is very dog savvy and Mozzie’s cat curiosity is getting him taught lessons he is slow to learn.  In his future home he would need a dog savvy cat or none at all.  He is also working on his chicken keeping skills.

He would likely be best in a home with female dogs only as he has had tension with other males.  He loves to play with the other Aussies in his foster home but would also do well as an only dog with an active family that would ensure he gets plenty of play time and exercise.

He’s an active boy but settles well and really enjoys shadowing his stay at home foster mom. He listens very well, is housebroken and is such a good boy! He is working on his counter surfing but is doing very well with correction and would need continued training in his forever home.

He is a few pounds overweight but will lose the extra weight easily with plenty of exercise and no table scraps. Mozzie would love a family with a fenced yard that would cuddle him and love on him!

Mozzie is fostered in Bowie, MD.

Brian

Brian is a handsome 4-year-old red bi Aussie, weighing 38 pounds, no tail, and he’s ready for a new beginning. This housebroken boy rides well in the car and is easy to handle for grooming. He’s gentle with kids and has a calm, submissive nature. He has come a long way in foster and now trusts his main caregiver and is ready and able to form an attachment to a person. He spent most of his life living outdoors with minimal human contact.

While Brian tends to avoid human interaction at first, once he feels safe, he’s sweet and cooperative. He will do best in a home with a secure yard and at least one other playful doggie companion.  After a rough start, he’s now fantastic on leash. Brian crates easily but now sleeps peacefully through the night uncrated in the bedroom and can be left loose in the house when you’re away with no problem.

Brian now wiggles in response to sweet talk, and is very food motivated so he learns quickly and happily with a few treats.  He is such a nice boy, with a fantastically soft coat that he has learned to like having brushed.

This guy might take a little longer to integrate into a new household and adjust to new humans than a dog from a more conventional background. but he is so worth it!

Brian is fostered in Collegeville, PA.

Ryver is a black tri  Aussie/Border Collie mix who hails from KY.  He is a neutered, smaller boy, less than 40 lbs and loves to listen to bluegrass music.  He is super sweet, affectionate, knows a few commands and housebroken.  This very charming Kentucky gentlemen will be available for meet and greets July 12th!  NSXXXX

Yukkon

is no couch potato!  He is Yukkon gold!
Best home for Yukkon:  Loving home with fenced yard and room to run and play. Loves to play ball, long hikes in the woods and trails, play with other dogs, and of course, family time with plenty of cuddles.  NSXXXX
Trudy the Tripod She is a very special blue merle with three legs.  We don’t know what happened, nor why she lost the leg, but the good news is that it is her back leg.  Dogs do quite well without one back leg.  Trudy is 29 lbs, 3 1/2 years old, spayed and will be fully vetted.  More to come when she arrives at her foster home.  NS4188
Tontoe This smaller size Red-Bi Aussie weighs in at just 38 lbs, neutered and four years young.  He has a stunning coat red and white coat with freckles on his paws.  He is sweet, social and friendly.  His career goal is to be a lead singer in a blue grass band and model western wear.  He is arriving into foster Sat, 6/28.  Updates will be provided as the foster home learns more about this loving, gorgeous country star!  If interested, just inquire about Tontoe!  NSXXXX
Juliet is a Texas gal with a big personality. She will be coming into our foster care the end of June.  She is a one year old, spayed, house trained, female Aussie weighing in at just 26 lbs and can do a Texas Two Step😊  This little gal is a double merle Aussie.   A double merle is the result of breeding a merle to a merle.  She seems to have quite decent vision, although you will see she has a starburst pupil which doesn’t always react properly to light, so she may be light sensitive. The very light sensitive double merles can wear doggles, but we very much doubt this girl will need any accommodation like that.  The vet says she also seems to hear fine.  The good news with double merles with these kinds of effects due to their genetic background is that the sight and hearing are stable — no progression to worse hearing or vision over the course of their life is typically seen.  She is a bit shy but nothing concerning. She’s a very sweet and gentle girl. We would say make sure she isn’t being overwhelmed, no kids taking food from her until you get to know her. Just the normal stuff to look out for in all dogs.  She’s young and wants to play!   NSXXXX

Hold

These dogs in the New Spirit program are currently undergoing medical treatment or behavioral assessment. No applications are being accepted on them at this time. Please check back for updates.

Mangus – ADOPTION PENDING – is in the 30 pound range and presently on medical hold due to recuperation from an accident. He is approximately 8 years old and semi-velcro. He always wants to know where you are and can hear you move from two rooms away. He is totally trust worthy without a crate, but will slip into his crate periodically for a nap. He experienced some time on his own before being rescued so asks that we keep all garbage can lids closed. He does not play with toys but enjoys belly rubs while in your lap and loves hanging on the deck watching the deer and new fawns on the outside of the fencing.   NS3884

Bailey Blue is a work in progress, learning to trust people. She may have been abused or had some head injury or is just naturally extremely shy of people, but she is great with other dogs.  This girl is a flower waiting to bloom and it will take some time to see how much more progress she can make. She may never be a very social dog with people she doesn’t know but it’s clear she will learn to love and trust at least one or two people.  Bailey Blue is fostered in Collegeville, PA  NS3780
