Banjo Beau

Banjo Beau is a gorgeous 5 yr old neutered male. He found himself in a shelter down south and was transported north when the volunteers at the shelter saw what a good boy he is! At first Banjo was scared of people, possibly from a difficult start, but now he’s learned what love and security mean.  He has blossomed into a super affectionate (sleeps on my feet in bed all night!), follows his people everywhere and loves to play with other dogs.

He is  no longer startled and scared all the time and just wants to be with you and get lots of pets.
He is housebroken and loose in the house when alone.
Banjo’s ideal home would have another dog (or 2!), a fenced yard so he can run around with his doggy friends, lots of toys and peanut butter stuffed bones. He loves older kids too!
Banjo isn’t fond of cats so he will need a cat free home.

Banjo Beau is fostered in Chester Springs, PA

Ruffington

Meet Ruffington! Ruff is a distinguished 8 year old senior gentleman with the energy level of a much younger dog. He is always game for a walk or playing, but is equally happy to settle down with a chew toy bone. He LOVES butt rubs and belly rubs and playing a nice game of fetch and tug. His current mission in life is to pee on every tree, stop sign, and telephone pole in the city of Philadelphia, and he is making great progress!

Ruffington has quickly adapted to city life. He loves going for walks and pulls a little on leash when he sees something interesting, but not hard. He is slightly reactive to other dogs when on walks and has been working on learning better manners through positive reinforcement. He is fully house trained, crate trained, and is very polite in the car. He is a smart boy who knows sit, stay, shake, and down. He likes to snooze on the couch or in his crate and is perfectly safe to be left loose when alone. His favorite foods are peanut butter and cottage cheese and he would also be interested in trying whatever you’re cooking. He loves to share like that! Ruff gets along with other dogs, cats, and all people. He does jump so a home without small children would be ideal.

Ruffington was living as an outside dog for a while, through no fault of his own, and is still remembering how life inside works. At this point the only thing that confuses him is stairs. Ruffington is a sweet boy who needs a family who will show him love every day, and let him love them back. Consider adding Ruffington to your family!

Ruffington is fostered in Philadelphia, PA.

Bangers and Nash

This 60-lb red tri Australian Shepherd is the total package—handsome, affectionate, and full of personality! With his striking blue and green eyes and larger-than-average Aussie build, he turns heads wherever he goes.  Nash is housetrained, crates easily, and rides in cars easily.  He pulls a little on the leash, but not much.

A true snuggle bug, he loves being close to his people and will gently place a paw on your arm when he wants attention. He’s just as happy lounging on the couch as he is zooming around the yard with his dog friends. Playing ball is one of his favorite pastimes—though he’s still working on the whole “bringing it back” part. He’s also learning to tug with the resident dogs and is always up for a good play session. His signature move? Flopping onto the floor and nipping at his playmates’ legs in what we lovingly call the crocodile move.  When he’s not playing crocodile, he’s splooting on the floor, as seen in his picture.

This gentle, easygoing guy does well with kids, other dogs, and even other animals. Because he thrives on companionship, he’d love a home with another playful pup to keep him company. A fenced-in yard is a must, as one of his favorite activities is simply lying in the grass, taking in the world around him.

If you’re looking for a loving, fun, and slightly goofy best friend, Nash might just be your perfect match!

Brian

Brian is a handsome 4-year-old red bi Aussie, weighing 38 pounds, no tail, and he’s ready for a new beginning. This housebroken boy rides well in the car and is easy to handle for grooming. He’s gentle with kids and has a calm, submissive nature. He has come a long way in foster and now trusts his main caregiver and is ready and able to form an attachment to a person. He spent most of his life living outdoors with minimal human contact.

While Brian tends to avoid human interaction at first, once he feels safe, he’s sweet and cooperative. He will do best in a home with a secure yard and at least one other playful doggie companion.  After a rough start, he’s now fantastic on leash. Brian crates easily but now sleeps peacefully through the night uncrated in the bedroom and can be left loose in the house when you’re away with no problem.

Brian now wiggles in response to sweet talk, and is very food motivated so he learns quickly and happily with a few treats.  He is such a nice boy, with a fantastically soft coat that he has learned to like having brushed.

This guy might take a little longer to integrate into a new household and adjust to new humans than a dog from a more conventional background. but he is so worth it!

Brian is fostered in Collegeville, PA.

Mangus – ADOPTION PENDING – is in the 30 pound range and presently on medical hold due to recuperation from an accident. He is approximately 8 years old and semi-velcro. He always wants to know where you are and can hear you move from two rooms away. He is totally trust worthy without a crate, but will slip into his crate periodically for a nap. He experienced some time on his own before being rescued so asks that we keep all garbage can lids closed. He does not play with toys but enjoys belly rubs while in your lap and loves hanging on the deck watching the deer and new fawns on the outside of the fencing.   NS3884

Bailey Blue is a work in progress, learning to trust people. She may have been abused or had some head injury or is just naturally extremely shy of people, but she is great with other dogs.  This girl is a flower waiting to bloom and it will take some time to see how much more progress she can make. She may never be a very social dog with people she doesn’t know but it’s clear she will learn to love and trust at least one or two people.  Bailey Blue is fostered in Collegeville, PA  NS3780
