Rugar
- Meet Rugar! If you’re looking for a dog who can go for a long walk, but then cuddle up on the couch, then this boy might be for you! Rugar is approximately 1.5 years old, and weighs 72 pounds (all legs). Rugar is great with kids, and loves it when they play fetch with him. He enjoys running laps outside and playing tug of war with his Aussie foster brother, but he has some resource guarding in the house, and does not take correction from a more dominant dog well, so a playmate that is more submissive would be preferred.
- Rugar loves people, and very much wants to be where they are. He sleeps in his crate all night, is fully housebroken, and will even ring a bell on the door to let you know he wants to go out! He knows basic commands, enjoys car rides, and is just an all around happy boy! He deserves a home of his own, with people who can give him all the pets and belly scratches he desires!

GunnerBlue
Meet GunnerBlue. He is a handsome boy from Illinois. GunnerBlue comes to New Spirit through no fault of his own, just a change in lifestyle from a loving family.
He has brown eyes, a tail and a beautiful blue merle coat, and weighs about 58 pounds. He is 8 years old, but full of life and energy; however, he is on the more laid back side.
He has quite the personality and has blossomed over the past few days. He loves getting belly rubs and being pet. He will snuggle on the couch with you, if he’s allowed, or just lay at your feet.
GunnerBlue loves to play outside and is having fun with the other dogs in the home. Although he plays well outside, GunnerBlue does resource guard the toys and food inside, even if they aren’t his. So, a home without a dog, or one that does not mind being pushed around would be best. He tends to ignore the cats in the house so a home with cats should be fine.
GunnerBlue does ride nicely in the car, and does not need to be crated if left alone in the house. He really is such a good boy and deserves to spend his life with a loving family.
He is up to date on his vaccinations and is in good health.
GunnerBlue is in Michigan right now, but he can’t wait to be adopted into a home that will love and cuddle him.
Quill
A Gentle Soul Looking for His Next Best Friend
Quill is a 3–4-year-old Aussie mix, likely with some Great Pyrenees in his lineage—and it shows in his fluffy, thick coat and gorgeous, plumed tail. But his most striking feature? His gentle heart.
Quill is as sweet and loving as they come. He’s friendly with everyone he meets, human or animal, and gets along well with both dogs and cats. He’s a medium Velcro pup who enjoys being near his people but also has an independent side—making him a great balance of cuddly and easygoing.
This handsome guy is crate trained, potty trained, and knows how to sit. He’d make a wonderful walking partner and thrives with regular exercise. While he’s mostly calm, Quill can be a bit vocal when he hears loud noises like garbage trucks—nothing a little reassurance and training can’t help.
Quill is still learning the ropes when it comes to socialization and would benefit from continued positive reinforcement and guidance. He’s eager to please and would thrive with a patient, loving person who can continue building his confidence.
Quill’s journey into rescue was a bittersweet one. His previous owner loved him deeply but became terminally ill and was no longer able to care for him. Now, Quill is looking for someone who can pick up where that love left off—and offer him the security, companionship, and care he deserves.
